Cosmos Season is Here
Buckets of Cosmos - Rose Bon Bon and Rosetta
September
The month that always reminds me why I love growing flowers. The field is full of cosmos right now—tall, airy stems swaying in the breeze, covered in white, blush, apricot, and deep pink blooms. There’s something so satisfying about watching them dance in the wind.
Why Cosmos Work So Well for Florists
Cosmos are one of our most reliable crops, flowering generously through these busy weeks when wedding and event season hits its peak. They’re perfect for florists who love that natural, garden-inspired look—the long stems add movement and lightness that’s hard to find in other flowers.
This year’s crop is particularly good. We’re growing whites, soft pinks, warm apricots, and those deeper, richer tones that add weight to arrangements.
The Varieties We’re Growing
White cosmos are essential for any palette. Purity has those classic open petals, while Collerette adds a gentle frill. Snow Puff brings softness, and the Cupcake varieties have that distinctive bowl shape that’s so sculptural in arrangements.
Pink cosmos offer incredible versatility. Cupcake Blush is barely there—just a hint of color. Rosetta goes deeper and more painterly. Fizzy Rose Picotee adds that lovely edged detail that catches the eye. Then there’s Double Rose Bon Bon, Double Pink Bicolour, Psyche, and Xsenia, giving you everything from soft to vibrant.
For something richer, Veloutte and Fandango deliver those deeper pink-red tones that ground an arrangement beautifully. And the apricots—Apricotta and Apricot Lemonade—have this warm glow that feels perfectly September.

Fresh from the British Field
What I love most about our cosmos is their freshness. These flowers are cut straight from the field and into buckets the same day, then straight to florists who understand the value of working with flowers at their peak. There’s a quality to field-fresh British grown flowers that you just can’t replicate.
The cosmos are at their absolute best right now. Buckets leave the farm daily, heading to florists who create those loose, romantic arrangements that feel both wild and intentional.
